his ezer

of course, the first of my series about being a wife, I am currently reading up on several books about Biblical femininity where I encountered the Hebrew words of "ezer kenegdo". In Genesis 2:28, the Hebrew expression ezer kenegdo appears, meaning "one who is the same as the other and who surrounds, protects, aids, helps, supports." The same as the other, there is a connotation of equality between me and my husband, God has designed that there is equality in the male and female relationships, family or social positioning, even in the areas of responsibility and authority. Further to that it meant " I am able to surround and protect my husband, I am able to help and support. Equal and complementary. It is said that Eve was God's ezer kenegdo for Adam. The word ezer is used twice in the Old Testament to refer to the female and in several other books, it was used to refer to God. In Psalm 118:7, "The LORD is with me; he is my helper" the word used was ezer. Reading further, research indicates ezer is a powerful Hebrew military word, that is the ezer is a warrior, and this has far-reaching implications for women, not only in marriage but in every relationship, season, and walk of life.
yes, I am the ezer for my husband and God has placed me where I should be. I am God's choice, His ezer kenegdo for my husband.
