go Pinays!

I am an avid reader of books especially on topics such as marriage and womanity ( term I borrowed from a fellow blogger whilst reading her article on "... to influence and change the impression about the Filipina by having relevant content appear in the first page of major search engines." ( see http://heels-and-skirts.blogspot.com/2007/12/filipina-writing-contest.html). I recently encountered her blog and website that deals on a noble cause about Asian femininity. True, there is much negative perception about Filipinas. Based on my experience whilst travelling, I am afraid to admit this is happening globally . It is up to the good people (I hope to be counted as one) to stand up and reject this kind behaviour.

I am not to dwell on weaknesses and not-so-positive aspects of people, but I feel and believe there should be an arena of discussion and active steps to be involved in a valid and valuable cause such as discrimination against women especially based on culture and race.

The website has listed women who merit to be named due to their blogging efforts for which the medium is video,(hence the term "vlog"). Feel free to check this: http://thisiscoy.net/2007/11/24/the-funniest-filipina-vloggers/

I don't agree 100% on all the video contents but this is a big step for Filipinas to show the world that we also are a "force to be reckoned with"

Go Pinay ezers!

I dedicate this post to my uni gang - we pride oursleves in our name -the "Hin-mahins" (mahinhin means dainty, divine, modest but because it was spelled in a slang way, it adds force and power to the word itself)
Here's us....
