6316 kilometers or 3925 miles

yes that's the distance between the 2 cities- Sydney and Singapore..

Spectacular Singapore - we spent the whole Sunday in Sentosa Island and two things are etched forever in my mind - the colourful sound or the noisy colours of everything that seems to embrace you wherever you go, and the rich smell of food. Every Asian cuisine you can think of is cooked and available here. I heard that the favorite pastime of Singaporeans is eating. I did not ask further nor do I blame them. We tried most of the big and small eating places there and I conclude – they were all fabulous!

One more surprise is Pulau Ubin. They said that this island posesses rich natural environments that described the Singapore mainland before it was urbanized, before the city 'became' the country. Pulau Ubin, a small island at northeast of Singapore, is one of the last rural areas to be found in the Merlion Country.

Sizzling Singapore – weather they compared to the Sahara Desert, the country has this thick warmth around it. Could it be the people, and their culture? I think it is -never mind its nearness to the equator.

Symbolic Singapore - Arts as defined is man trying to imitate, supplement, alter, or counteract the work of nature – after watching the Asian premiere of the Broadway Classic, VICTOR/VICTORIA, the Singapore production at the Esplanade Theatre on the Bay, I believe it is man’s attempt to symbolize what he cannot make tangible.

I wish we could have spun the Wheel of Fortune in the Sakyamuni Buddha Gaya, popularly known as the Temple of 1000 Lights or dabbled in oriental cooking or tried to feel my "chi" in the Fountain Of Wealth located in Suntec City but Singapore was a complete surprise to my hubby and myself. It was only our energy that hampered our thirst for adventure. We’re sure to come back and see the rest of the country.!
